Rango (2011) Movie Review
For you who is longing for a nice comedy film to watch and a great fantasy film to enjoy, you should not worry. Rango will certainly provide you with both of them. As one of the new movie releases this year and one of the new productions of Paramount Pictures film production company, in association with Nickelodeon Movies, Rango is absolutely a total entertainment for both adults and “older” children. And watch out: it has the hilarious Johnny Depp in it.
Well, the story of Rango cannot be said a new one, since some other non-animation comedy films have ever put forwards the same story. The main characters here, Rango (voiced by the expert of this kind, Johnny Depp), is a wandering chameleon after he gets a traffic accident and lands in a desert. Ridiculously, as a chameleon, he cannot change his color but only pretend to be a tree instead when he is chased after by a hungry eagle. Fortunately, he can escape.
There in the desert, Rango arrives in a town which is so dry that there is not even water at all. And shockingly all the inhabitants there, which are animals like Rango himself, wearing clothes just like human beings. But then the chameleon meets a mayor (voiced by Ned Beatty), and soon the mayor is impressed by his story. And the townsfolk immediately want Rango to be a sheriff there. Of course, Rango’s main duty is to tackle down the bad guys there.
